Below is a screenshot of a Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) running on vSphere 6.0 Update 1 configured with a 1920x1080 resolution. One other thing to note is if you plan on using higher display resolution than 2560x1600, you may need to configure some additional VM Advanced Settings due to use of framebuffers that are larger than 16MB. Tried with the regular screen resolution tool in System Preferences but to no avail. After looking in Internet for a solution I came across this solution which I feel is worth noting here in this blog. Thanks to the author (gingy22) which wrote it for MAC OS X Leopard but is applicable to Snow leopard as well. The Apple Menu About This Mac More Info. Displays gets my vote. If you have multiple monitors attached, it will show each by brand and resolution. Let us not forget the application Display Menu in the OS X App Store. It is free, parks in the menu bar, and does what its name suggests. It is Mavericks compatible. The default screen resolution for Mac OS X VirtualBox Guest is 1024×768. Below shows how to change the screen resolution of Mac OS VirtualBox guest running on Windows 10. Open “Command Prompt”. (press Win + x and select “Command Prompt”) 2. Navigate to VirtualBox folder in which “VBoxManage.exe” resides.
Hi, Marco and welcome to Apple Discussions. I can't find any useful information on LG's website about how much VRAM is necessary to support your monitor's native 1680 x 1050 resolution in millions of colors, but I suspect it's more than 16MB. If you reduce the number of colors in the Monitors control panel to thousands, are you offered any higher resolutions or different aspect ratios? If not, your video card may be too old and inflexible to support your new monitor. I would call LG's tech support and ask.
I don't believe there is any limitation in OS 9 itself that would cause your problem.
